Prep/Line Cook Skunk & Goat Tavern 17 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428 Overview The Skunk & Goat Tavern is seeking dedicated and passionate Line/Prep Cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Line/Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared efficiently and to the highest standards, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant or catering services. Duties Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, stocks, and other components as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled and stored correctly. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal preparation. Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or catering assistant is preferred. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods is preferred. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
