Job Description
It’s official: With the retirement last December of our first full-time rector, we at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Port Royal-Beaufort, S.C., are beginning the search for our next rector.
We are a happy, healthy, debt-free parish, an inclusive fellowship called by God, through Christ, to love and serve the world. All are welcome—and heartily welcomed—at St. Mark’s. Outreach is in our DNA. We are theologically progressive. Our worship is profoundly meaningful to us. And we live to sing on Sunday morning!
We seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in calling “a faithful pastor, who will care for God’s people and equip us for our ministries,” as our congregation says together in prayer each week.
More specifically, we seek:
a preacher to inspire us with sermons that speak to our common lives
a rector to help us to cast a vision for our future and to achieve it
a pastor to respond to us with empathy and compassion
a spiritual leader to support our lay ministry and ready us for it
