JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Overview:

A Boat Detailing Specialist is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and maintaining the appearance of boats and watercraft. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that boats are presented in pristine condition, enhancing their aesthetics and protecting their surfaces. The Boat Detailing Specialist must possess a keen eye for detail, be skilled in various cleaning and polishing techniques, and have a thorough understanding of the materials and surfaces commonly found in boats.

Key Responsibilities:

Boat Cleaning:

Thoroughly clean and wash the exterior and interior of boats, including hulls, decks, cabins, windows, and carpets. Remove dirt, grime, salt deposits, and other contaminants.

Polishing and Waxing:

Apply specialized polishes and waxes to restore shine and protect boat surfaces. Buff and polish fiberglass, metal, wood, and other boat materials.

Upholstery and Carpet Cleaning:

Clean, shampoo, and condition boat upholstery, vinyl seats, and carpets. Address any stains or blemishes to restore their appearance.

Teak Restoration:

Clean, sand, and reseal teak wood surfaces to maintain their natural beauty and longevity.

Metal Polishing:

Polish stainless steel, chrome, and other metal parts to remove oxidation and maintain a polished finish.

Surface Inspection:

Inspect boat surfaces for scratches, dents, or damage, and report any findings to the boat owner or supervisor.

Detailing Equipment:

Properly maintain and operate detailing equipment, including pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, and other tools.

Product Knowledge:

Stay up-to-date with the latest boat detailing products, techniques, and technologies to ensure high-quality service.

Customer Service:

Interact with boat owners, clients, and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner. Address any questions or concerns regarding the detailing process.

Time Management:

Efficiently manage work schedules and complete detailing tasks within specified timeframes.

Quality Control:

Ensure that each boat detailing job meets the highest standards of quality and precision.

Environmental Responsibility:

Follow environmentally friendly practices and dispose of detailing chemicals and waste responsibly.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
Proven experience in boat detailing or automotive detailing is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for imperfections.
Knowledge of various boat materials, surfaces, and cleaning products.
Ability to use detailing equipment and tools effectively and safely.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new boat detailing techniques and products.
