Job Description

Boat Detailer Someone To Do It Marina & Boat Yard Miami, FL Applicants must be experienced in cleaning, restoring, and protecting the exterior and interior surfaces of a boat to maintain its aesthetic appeal and functionality. They must have a combination of knowledge about marine materials, cleaning products, and techniques to handle various surfaces like fiberglass, metal, wood, and vinyl.

Job Responsibilities Exterior Detailing:
Washing and Cleaning:

Cleaning the hull, deck, and other exterior surfaces using marine-safe soaps and cleaners. This includes removing dirt, salt, algae, and other contaminants.

Waxing and Polishing:

Applying wax or polish to the boat’s hull and deck to protect against UV rays and oxidation. This process helps restore the shine and protects the gel coat.

Oxidation Removal:

Buffing and compounding to remove oxidation, scratches, and minor imperfections from fiberglass and gel coat surfaces.

Metal Polishing:

Polishing stainless steel, chrome, and aluminum components like rails, cleats, and fittings to prevent corrosion and maintain their luster.

Teak Restoration:

Cleaning, sanding, and applying oil or sealant to teak decks and trim to restore and preserve the wood’s natural appearance.

Interior Detailing:
Cleaning Surfaces:

Cleaning and sanitizing all interior surfaces, including vinyl, leather, wood, and fabric upholstery. This includes wiping down dashboards, consoles, and other interior fixtures.

Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning:

Vacuuming, shampooing, and deep-cleaning carpets and upholstery to remove stains, odors, and dirt.

Bilge Cleaning:

Cleaning the bilge area to remove oil, fuel, and grime buildup, ensuring the bilge is dry and odor-free. Head (Bathroom)

Cleaning:

Sanitizing and deodorizing the boat’s head, including toilets, sinks, and showers.

Glass and Window Cleaning:

Polishing and cleaning windows, hatches, and mirrors to ensure they are streak-free and clear.

Inspection and Reporting:
Damage Identification:

Inspecting the boat for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion and reporting any issues to the owner or service manager.
