The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting with the preparation of meals in accordance with established recipes and dietary guidelines and also maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen environment. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, ensuring that all food items are prepared efficiently and served in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing nutritious meals. Duties Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items as per menu specifications. Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and utensils. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling techniques to prevent contamination. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, mixers and other appliances. Wash dishes, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained Support kitchen staff with various tasks as required Skills Proficient in food handling techniques and knowledge of safety regulations. Experience in meal preparation within a kitchen environment is highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being self-motivated. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Comfortable using kitchen tools such as knives and other food preparation equipment. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff. Experience Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
