Dishwasher Duties:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
• Sweep or scrub floors
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
• Stock supplies such as food or utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
• Assist with food preparation and other tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
• Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures is a plus

Skills:

• Food preparation: Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and practices

• Culinary:

  Familiarity with culinary terms and equipment used in a kitchen setting

• Food service: Understanding of customer service principles in a food service environment

• Catering:

  Knowledge of catering operations and procedures for large events or gatherings

• Food industry: Awareness of industry standards and regulations related to food handling and sanitation
• Menu planning: Ability to assist with menu planning and preparation based on dietary requirements or preferences
• Dietary department: Familiarity with the operations of a dietary department in a healthcare or hospitality setting
