The Spotted Trotter is a wholesale manufacturing and butcher shop•
NOT A RESTAURANT.
We are looking for someone to work in our production kitchen with a team of former chefs making beautiful sausages and salamis in a USDA certified, small facility in the heart of Atlanta. This is a Porter position•washing pots, pans, and light kitchen work and cleaning. Cross-training catering, retail and service opportunities are also available for those who want to increase their knowledge base and get promoted.
THE IMPORTANT STUFF!
The pay band for this job is $15•$19 per hour. We promote from within, we pay above market, and for those employees working a full-time schedule, after 90 days of full time employment, we offer employee-only medical, dental and vision coverage at 75% paid, we offer STD, LTD, and Life Insurance at 100% paid, and we have a 401k with a 4% company match with immediate vesting. We also provide a monthly Retail Stipend for each full-time employee to use in our Butcher Shop ($100 for single employees / $200 for married employees or employees living with their children). Requirements:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation. Washes all wares including pots, plans, and cutlery, by hand or using dishwashers. Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas. Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the production and retail areas such as lobbies, staircases, bathrooms, and other building areas, as well as surrounding outer space. Oversees the monitoring of cleaning supplies and inventory and management when additional stock is needed. Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks. May assist in cleaning and preparing various items for production as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to understand and meet USDA standards for health and safety. Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced. Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff. Detail-oriented and thorough. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent active listening skills. Basic knife skills. Proficient in taking directions.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required. Basic food knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking and reaching throughout the kitchen space. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to work in a cold environment (cooler) intermittently and be comfortable working with meat
