Ensuring the kitchen is organized and ready for service, following all sanitation and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Washing and Sorting:
Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashing machines or by hand.
Loading and Unloading:
Load and unload dishes and utensils into dishwashing machines and properly sort them.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Keep the dishwashing area and surrounding workspace clean, organized, and free of clutter. Assisting with
Food Prep:
May assist with food preparation tasks as needed, such as washing produce or prepping ingredients.
Trash and Recycling:
Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
Inventory:
Assist with restocking and organizing dishware and other kitchen supplies.
Cleaning:
Clean kitchen appliances, such as blenders, toasters, and other equipment.
Following Procedures:
Adhere to all sanitation and food safety guidelines, and report any issues.
Other Duties:
Assist with other kitchen tasks as assigned by supervisors or chefs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Reliable and dependable: Ability to arrive on time and perform duties effectively.
Organized and detail-oriented:
Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Ability to follow instructions:
Adherence to sanitation and safety guidelines.
Physical stamina:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy items over 50 lbs.
Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively with other kitchen staff.
Prior experience:
Previous dishwashing experience is a plus but not always required.
Food safety knowledge:
Understanding of basic food safety principles
