Overview:

The purpose of May Bakery & Cafe is to provide class service to all guests. The dishwasher will be accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by cleaning countertops, floors, and food preparation areas. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support cooks and kitchen staff. Help with bussing tables during peak hours to ensure a smooth dining experience for guests. Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen equipment in designated areas. Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met. Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager.

Experience:

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of food handling practices is a plus, especially in culinary settings. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Wage and Scheduling:

$14-20+/hour Part time or Full time Mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
