The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, and ensuring a smooth operation in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels and restaurants. Duties Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and other ingredients as needed. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe cooking environment. Clean dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly after use to support efficient workflow. Help with the organization of food storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and stock rotation. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing additional assistance as required. Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and cleanliness. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately.
