Mercato and Cafe Cent-Dix – Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher – Part-time Mercato Bar & Kitchen 108 North Aurora Street, Ithaca, NY 14850 Mercato Bar & Kitchen and Le Cafe Cent-Dix are looking for Kitchen Porters/Dishwashers to join their team! Mercato Bar & Kitchen and Le Cafe Cent-Dix are small family owned restaurants. They are quintessential neighborhood restaurants serving Italian and French inspired cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. The Dishwasher ensures that all kitchenware and the kitchen itself are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Shifts available are 3pm-11pm Wednesday and Saturday Key Focus Clean and prepare all dishware for daily operations and throughout service. Assist in the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen areas and dining room. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment. Sort and remove trash in designated pickup areas. Assist in some small food prep tasks

Primary Responsibilities:

Working as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed in order of priority, and in the allotted time frame. Ensuring that all staff have a safe and pleasant work environment at all times. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using a dish machine or by hand. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Service Standards Maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout the kitchen. Follow all company policies and procedures Follow all Department of Health (DOH) standards. Physical Demands The physical demands for this position frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, lifting up to 50 pounds up and down stairs, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
