The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role plays a vital part in the smooth operation of our food service by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored. The Kitchen Steward is responsible for unloading and rinsing dishes, operating the dish machine, and inspecting cleanliness before returning items to their proper locations. This individual will also help maintain overall kitchen sanitation, follow the established closing procedures, and support the culinary team as needed. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to contributing to a positive team environment. Key Responsibilities Unload, spray, and sort dishes for dishwashing Operate dishwashing machine and hand-wash pots, pans, and trays Inspect and organize all cleaned items in proper storage locations Maintain cleanliness of the dish pit, equipment, and kitchen areas Follow the kitchen closing checklist to standard Empty trash and clean garbage bins and dumpsters regularly Perform additional cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and general sanitation Maintain safe operation of dish equipment and report issues promptly Assist with other stewarding duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to communicate in English Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with minimal supervision Previous stewarding or kitchen experience is a plus Skills & Traits Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Ability to prioritize and work efficiently under pressure Effective time management and organizational skills Team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor Committed to supporting a safe and respectful workplace Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods May occasionally need to stoop, kneel, climb, or balance Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a respected team in a well-established, high-end club setting.
