Ambassador Usher 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Boston, MA 02116 Summary The ushers are a key part of the Front of House team. This team assists patrons attending events in both performance spaces of the Charles Playhouse; a 200-seat theater which is the former home to the comedy whodunit Shear Madness, and a 500-seat theater that is home to the long-running smash hit Blue Man Group . The candidate must have availability during the weeks beginning December 20th, 2022, through Jan 2nd, 2023. A possible employment extension is available past the Holidays, pending staffing availability. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare the theater, the lobbies, and the lounge for the public. Maintain the basic cleanliness of these areas during shows. Engage with the audience in a welcoming way while performing assigned tasks: Scanning tickets. Seating patrons. Directing crowd flow. Answering questions. Ensure patron and performer safety. Be familiar with the building’s evacuation plan and be prepared to execute it as needed. Work with Management to ensure compliance with all building policies, especially Federal, State, and Local requirements related to Covid-19. Create an excellent audience experience by providing top-notch, proactive customer service. Education and/or Experience Previous experience working with the public is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Communication Skills Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests. Ability to effectively present information to guests of all ages. Critical Thinking Adaptable within a fast-paced theatrical environment. Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service. An understanding of how to provide an enjoyable and safe environment.
