What We Offer This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work 36 hours per week and no more than 36 hours per week. The starting pay for this position is $19.59/hour. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. Location & Schedule These positions will report to 4495 Jason Street in Denver, CO, but will work at various locations throughout the city.

The typical schedule for this position will be Monday through Thursday, 6:00a.m. – 3:30p.m. and will run from June to end of August, 2025. Who We Are & What You’ll Do Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking 2 on-call Utility Workers supporting Carpentry, Paint, Electrical, Plumbing, Amenities, Pools and HVAC teams. These are supportive (hands-on) positions that will cycle through 3-4 separate trades during the summer season. Teams to work with will be identified after start of the position and likely will be cycled every 2-4 weeks. These are seasonal positions that will work no more than 36 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits. This is a summer seasonal position offered for youth workforce development. To that end, DPR is committed to: Examining department policies and processes that value diverse perspectives and eliminate barriers to inclusion Identifying where inequities exist and implementing strategies to ensure equitable outcomes Strengthening diversity in Parks and Recreation services by transforming policies to institutionalize equity Reinvesting in resources aimed at ensuring DPR is an equitable and just organization Specifically, as a Citywide Facilities Seasonal Utility Worker you will: Work outdoors and sometimes indoors on various parks amenities using and maintaining various hand-powered tools, pressure washers and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner Assist in responding to carpentry, paint, HVAC, Plumbing, Pools< Amenities or electrical requests and scheduled projects or tasks Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and installation of various amenities such as fencing, concrete, asphalt, and playground equipment and structures Support operations to maintain, clean, or restore infrastructure and amenities in parks Work indoors and outdoors to help prepare and maintain pools and splashpads for summer operation and winter shutdown Work alongside experienced skilled trades workers to learn best practices in responding to aquatic maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasks Handle hazardous chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, muriatic acid, and test kit materials for pool set ups Work with plumbers and irrigation technicians to make repairs Assist Carpentry teams with indoor and outdoor facilities repairs Assist Electrical team members with assigned tasks Support and assist HVAC team members with indoor and outdoor repairs and maintenance What You'll Bring We value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels.
