PT RECREATION WORKER PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT PT RECREATION WORKER

The Recreation Worker plays a vital role in assisting with a wide variety of recreational programs, events and activities within the community. This position requires a passion for community engagement, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating positive and inclusive experiences for participants of all ages. Assists with the execution of special events and recreation programs organized by the Parks and Recreation Department. Includes but not limited to, setting up and dismantling equipment, providing on-site assistance, and facilitating participant engagement. Will perform physical work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Will contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of park facilities, grounds, and event spaces. May provide clerical support by performing tasks such as answering phones, preparing and distributing bulk-marketing items such as flyers and organizing supplies. Collaborates across the Parks and Recreation Department divisions, offering assistance as needs require. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and the public. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals. Ability to function independently, attentive to detail, and prioritize resources. Ability to safely and actively engage in physical tasks, such as setup and clean-up. Familiarity with basic computer applications. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Customer service experience preferred but not required. Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License that is to remain valid as a condition of employment. Required to be CPR, AED and First Aid certified or acquire within 6 months of employment and maintain certification as a condition of continued employment Ability to work evening and weekend hours. Must pass background check and physical exam, including drug screen. Bartlett resident preferred but not required.
