The New York Athletic Club, one of the world’s premier clubs, isseeking a Day Camp Aquatics Director at the Travers Island propertylocated in Pelham, NY. The candidate for this position will be apart of the Winged Foot Day Camp team and will oversee the day campaquatics staff and daily functions. The Winged Foot Day Camp is theperfect opportunity for children of members to gain a full campexperience, take advantage of the world class facilities at TraversIsland, and create memories to last a lifetime. Campers willparticipate in several sports, creative arts, theme days, and offcampus field trips

Job Description and Responsibilities :

• Establish and oversee all swimming activities at the Travers Islandpool
• Supervise all staff and campers participating in swimactivities
• Manage daily operations of the aquatics staffincluding the camp’s lifeguards and swim instructors
• Overseeand assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the aquatics facilityat Travers Island
• Respond to bathing facility emergencies
• Implement and oversee the buddy system
• Develop and maintainpositive relationships with members, guests as well as staffincluding the Club’s Aquatic Director
• Ensure pool safetyprocedures are strictly adhered to by lifeguards and instructors
• Must be on site
• Attend pre-camp training in May and June2024

Qualifications :

• Minimum one season experience as a CampAquatics Director at a NYS camp; or two seasons experienceconsisting of at least twelve weeks as children’s camp lifeguard ata pool or beach; or eighteen weeks of previous experience as alifeguard at a pool or beach
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Pass NYS and nationalbackground check
• Transportation to and from Travers Islandrequired
• 40 hours per week during June-August 2024
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team
• Possess effective customer service skills
• Demonstrateresponsible and professional conduct
• Be open to feedback anddesire to grow professionally
• Able to handle multiple tasksefficiently and accurately
