What You Will Do:
Oversee the management of operations and staff of allRecreation, Fitness Center, and Safety Program, ensuring completecompliance with hotel safety, service, and grooming standards Reports to the Assistant Director of Recreation Oversees the operation of the swimming pool area Oversees the pool programs such as towel issue, retail sales atthe pool, and pool concierge programs Interviews and recruits all Recreation, lifeguard employees andRecreation vendors Reviews and submits vendor contracts to Director’s approvalprior to the hiring and scheduling of an activity Establishes, ensures adherence to all departmental and LoewsHotels guidelines, policies, and procedures Evaluates changes in guest needs, the hotel’s guest mix, andindustry and competitive trends to recommend appropriateproduct/service and operational changes to be made to ensure guestand employee satisfaction, and to maintain market dominance andexceptional financial returns Prepares seasonal recreation activity schedules andparticipates in the planning and development of holiday and specialevent programs Ensures proper posting of activities and special eventinformation Maintains optimal staffing levels within forecasted budgetaryguidelines Completes appropriate shift reports Reviews/maintains daily payroll records/reports Evaluates individual employee performance, determiningimprovement and training needs and advancement requirements Communicates information about hotel and recreation programs toall guest contact departments to facilitate greater utilization andto promote incremental revenues Ensures that all recreation programs are executed in accordancewith all hotel and safety guidelines Inspects the general appearance and functionality of allactivities/recreation spaces including sanitation, temperature,lighting, and musical elements Responsible for accurate recording and submittal of payrollinformation Schedules and coordinates monthly recreation staffmeetings Maintains the clean and excellent working condition of thefollowing areas: pool deck, game room, and any other hotel spaceset up for a planned recreational activity Assist in compliance of Aquatics Training Program Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problemsand/or unusual matters of significance Complies with Loews Hotels uniform and grooming guidelines Other duties as assigned
Your Required Experience andQualifications Includes:
Minimum one year of recreation/aquatics supervisoryexperience Must be able to swim and be comfortable in and around water foran entire shift Must be able to complete and maintain current Lifeguardcertification to include written and practical exams Excellent communication skills-oral and written Strong leadership skills Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends andholidays Must complete monthly in-service training requirements Must hold clean motor vehicle driving record upon request High School Diploma or Equivalent. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage aflexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Associate’s degree in a related field (Preferred) 3 or more years of experience in training and/or the recreationor pool function (Preferred) Licensed Lifeguard Instructor certification (Preferred)
