With recent events, it’s evident that recovery efforts are still underway throughout our community. To help expedite this process for parks and facilities damaged by the recent hurricanes, our Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources team recognized the need for a temporary Recovery Project Manager. This crucial time-limited role will provide critical advisory, strategic planning, and project management services related to capital improvement recovery, repair, and remediation projects within parks. In coordination with the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Leadership and Management team, you will develop a PRNR Recovery Plan that identifies remediation and recovery projects essential to restore Sarasota County assets. This role promotes the recovery of assets directly supporting the local economy, tourism, and sports tourism. Apply today and know that your experience impacts residents and visitors alike! About the position In this position you will… Help to develop a plan with categories of work, including but not limited to: Electrical Infrastructure, HVAC Systems, Structures, Plumbing, Sanitary Systems, Parking Facilities, Horticulture, Storm Water Systems, Lighting, and Park Amenities. Identify tasks or work phases to be self-performed or subcontracted. Determine labor requirements and equipment needs. Communicate with the team to secure resources needed to execute the project in a quality-driven, effective manner. Prepare, review, and manage contractual proposals for all recovery, repair, and remediation services. Develop requirements and obtain necessary pricing information. Work closely with our Parks Division staff and the County Grants and Contracts for the development and solicitation of all contracted work for repairs needed to Parks and Facilities. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted through the course of work; gaining cooperation through discussion and persuasion. Implement the PRNR Recovery Plan based on defined priorities and criticality of operations. Ensure the project goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame, driving projects to completion in an expedited manner. Delegate responsibilities, as appropriate, to ensure requirements and work tasks are executed. About the

Schedule Work Hours:

Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Typical Schedule:

7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc.

Special Note:

This position is a time-limited role. In this time-limited role, your position may be maintained until May 31, 2026. You will receive benefits and retirement but will lack retention rights to your position.

About You Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field

  • and•a minimum of seven (7) years of related CIP work experience.

OR

  • Master degree may substitute for one year of the required work experience.
  • OR•Project experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
About Everything Else Starting Pay Range:

$74,713

  • $100,000 based on your experience.
