WELLNESS DIRECTOR

JOB SUMMARY

: Our goal is to deliver The Cliffs Lifestyle to Members, Guests of Members and Discovery Guests through “The Cliffs Commitment” categorically summarized as “details”, “relational service”, and “continuous improvement”.

JOB DUTIES

Institute programs that respond to and proactively motivate members to improve their fitness, nutrition and overall wellbeing. Fitness programs (cardio, stretching, weights, movement classes, etc.) Outdoor wellness (hiking, walking, riding, fishing, kayaking, etc.) Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Wellness Center. Interview and hire staff. Schedule staff in an efficient manner to cover the facility. Counsel and direct staff to perform in a productive manner. Maintain the wellness centers to the Cliffs standards. Maintain pool operations in accordance with OSHA standards. Maintain knowledge of the most recent developments in wellness programming, wellness equipment and facilities, related medical advancements and leadership. Work within the written budget and right accurate monthly variance reports.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years working in the wellness/fitness industry. Minimum of 2 years leading a team of wellness professionals. Minimum of 2 years working with budgets, financial statements and capital expenditure planning. Able to write coherent articles for various internal and external publications. College degree in a related field is preferred. Personal training certification by ACSM or NSCA is preferred. Nutrition certification by a reputable national organization is required. CPR/AED/First Aid required

SUCCESS FACTORS

Receive positive comments from membership with respect to the overall Wellness program. Increase member usage of the facilities, classes, and educational offerings as a percentage of available members each year. Gain peer acceptance throughout the organization.
