Job Description

Pool Manager City of Etowah Etowah, TN 37331 Pool Manage Job Description Summary The Pool Manager will oversee our city pool facility. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling employees, training new staff, supervising lifeguards, testing water quality, and inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. You will also enforce pool rules and policies. Administrative duties include recording visitor numbers, the handling of monies and making reports for deposits, requesting repairs or services, and enforcing policies for safe facility use. This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices. Must have necessary skills to perform intermediate math and use computer software programs. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage staff schedules
  • Train new staff
  • Oversee lifeguards
  • Inspect facilities for repairs and maintenance
  • Keep accurate records of visitors
  • Report problems and request service calls
  • Supervising lifeguards
  • Before the pool opens, you walk through the whole facility, inspecting equipment for potential damage and safety issues, and request repairs and maintenance when necessary
  • Report on any unsafe conditions to Parks & Recreation Director
  • Enforcing facility safety rules and policies with guests and staff
  • Stores chemicals and supplies in accordance with local and state/federal policies.
  • Provide recommendations on inventory to management
  • Follows and develops procedures to improve operations within the department
  • Creates and completes work schedules, records and reports when needed.
  • Updates Lifeguard certifications as needed.
  • Monitors and records water conditions (temperature, clarity, chlorine, and pH levels).
  • Conducts regularly scheduled in-service training.
  • Coordinates training and development.
  • Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies.
  • Enforces all local, state/federal policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensures the safety of both the Aquatic staff and guests
  • Requirements and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • 3+ years of lifeguarding experience
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
  • Commitment of working the entire summer season (May 1st through September 5th)
