Compensation Rate:

$17.50/hr What you get to do: Complete opening, operating, and closing procedures daily Maintain surveillance of park guests to ensure safety on park attractions/elements Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere which ensures the highest level of ambassador performance and guest service while enforcing and complying with safety procedures and guidelines. Supervise, train and counsel ambassadors while ensuring proper training and development in accordance with SEA guidelines; such as minor infractions (i.e., attendance, grooming, etc.). Accurately track ambassador labor to include daily scheduling and break management. Conduct in-service training to maintain/improve skill level of water safety team Investigate safety and guest service incidents Communicate effectively with other areas within the department as well as other departments in the park Identify and communicate industry best practices to management Support senior leadership in a variety of duties Initiate interaction with park guests in a proactive manner Assist with maintaining park cleanliness Cross train at Busch Gardens to assist with a variety of roles during off season What it takes to succeed: Be at least 18 years old. Have a valid high school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Have a minimum of three (3) months park experience with no significant performance deficiencies within that period or equivalent 3 months external leadership industry experience. One (1) year lifeguard experience preferred. Be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines to include American Red Cross Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certification. Be able to provide approved footwear (i.e., approved non-slip sneaker shoes, specified color requirements, etc.) upon first date of employment. Be able to perform job duties/task and meet the minimum qualifications of the positions within the scope of supervision. Have working knowledge of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Provide excellent guest service to guests and ambassadors. Be able to run/walk and stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions. Able to climb on uneven surfaces or towers (up to 65 ft tall) Be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays. At least 3 days of unrestricted availability including weekends (1 must be between Saturday-Sunday) and holidays during the non-peak season. At least 4 days of unrestricted availability including weekends (1 must be between Saturday-Sunday) and holidays during peak season (Memorial thru Labor Day). Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations. Be willing to comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards. Valid driver’s license and able to meet company’s driving guidelines Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
