Full Job Description Aquatics Supervisor Pay:

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour

Purpose :

Within your respective shift assignment(s), the Aquatics Supervisor (AQS) will collaborate with the Aquatics Manager (AQM) to effectively direct and manage SMR aquatics operations and waterpark safety. The AQS is trained in water safety and enforces all pool regulations including SMR Policies and Procedures in accordance with property and applicable Lifeguard Manuals. This leadership role is significant to lead with integrity and coach team members to success, execute business requirements, and to support the aquatics team as they serve our guest. The AQS is responsible for guest satisfaction and employee accountability, as well as completing their daily work tasks and any additional tasks assigned.

Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business:

The AQS will work 8 to 10+ hours per shift, 5 or 6+ days each week, based on occupancy and staffing demand. Holidays and weekends are affected by peak demand which means all team members must work together during those days to keep operations running efficiently. Within your respective assignments you will: Supervise daily Aquatics operations and team members to include, but not limited to; aquatics, evaluating team members, training, testing, certification of team members if certified to do so, coaching, compliance, rentals, and aquatic common areas. Maintain and monitor activities to achieve the highest level of cleanliness, maintenance, safety and care in pool areas to include, but not limited to; swimming pool, slides, water elements, play features, steps, tables and seating, pool activity areas, waterpark/hotel areas and team member back of house areas. Knowledge and ability to comply with all Company operating policies and procedures to follow and enforce in compliance with property and applicable Lifeguard Manuals.

First Aid and CPR certification:

Participate and/or lead in weekly in-service training and drills. Compliance with TOSHA certifications, biohazards procedures and responsibilities for safety in handling. Respond to action items and guest related items or problems promptly and effectively to prevent reoccurrence. In the event of a potential emergency, assist or rescue pool users (guests) who may be sick, hurt or in distress. Enforce SMR pool regulations and educate guests about them. Informed and knowledgeable of resort/hotel property for ‘activity and event’ guest experience locations. Perform closing procedures at waterpark after closing. Communicate with my AQM in regard to projects, special events, inventory, guest impact items, and team member performance. Collaborate with the AQM to complete orders as directed and in a timely manner to meet capacity demands. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned. Management reserves the right to change, remove or add to these duties as necessary.

Knowledge:

Ability to train and continually monitor team members in regard to surveillance techniques, accident prevention, rescue techniques, first aid and CPR/AED. Ability to communicate effectively and use the English language fluently: speak, understand, read, and write. Adapt Spanish interpretation when necessary. Digitally savvy with the ability to become knowledgeable, regarding team member training and use of the Purple Cloud system, Paycor system and advanced Property Management system and is required. Software systems may be deleted and/or added with innovations in new technology. Education /

Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 1 or more years directly supervising a minimum of 6 team members is required. Aquatic/waterpark experience is required in addition to one or more of the following industries which includes: Hospitality, Resort or Theme Park is preferred. Certification for ‘Shallow Water Lifeguarding’ is required or the ability to obtain within 14 days from work start date. (includes First Aid and CPR). Certification for Pool Operator (CPO) is required or the ability to obtain within 30 days from work start date. (These professionals are responsible for pool safety, maintenance, cleaning, management, expansion, and more). American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification is preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months from work start date. Strength, stamina and long distance endurance is required. Valid driver’s license. Ability to work within a diverse workforce.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include peripheral, distance, close, and depth perception and the ability to adjust vision focus. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit, use hands to finger, touch, handle, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and descend numerous flights of stairs consistently. The employee is required to use hand, arm, and leg to reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds daily on their own. Must be able to make and/or assist with rescues if necessary. Most work will be performed in the waterpark with exposure to high or low temperatures, sun, humidity, chlorine and water. Ability to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoors with exposure to high or low temperatures, sun, humidity, chemicals, chlorine and water. Some work will be performed indoors.
