Director, Special Events 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Madison, AL 35758 Rocket City Trash Pandas 2025 Job Position Listing BallCorps, LLC, owner and operator of the Rocket City Trash Pandas , Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, is searching for an experienced, detail-oriented event sales professional to lead the Special Events department. The Director of Special Events will report to the Vice President of Sales and manage sales of all non-game day events, supervise the Special Events staff and oversee the development and execution of the departments marketing plan.
Position Overview:
The Director of Special Events will prospect and develop relationships that result in event bookings, manage support staff, and work closely with other departments. The Director of Special Events will make certain that all event sales and service activities, strictly adhere to the Trash Pandas’ high standards of customer service including, but not limited to, in-depth customer communication, first-class product presentation, timely fulfillment, and customer deference. The Director of Special Events will manage all sales activities, implement best practices, develop stellar relationships with the community, and create marketable events resulting in both new and repeat business from the Trash Pandas’ customer base. The Director of Special Events will create the Special Events Department budget; and adjust operations to stay within the budget and to sustain projected profit margins. The Director of Special Events is required to adhere to the mission and values of BallCorps, LLC and the Rocket City Trash Pandas.
Responsibilities:
Generate revenue through special event sales such as weddings, concerts, trade-shows, meetings, (etc.). Responsible for communicating with clients, internal departments, and 3rd party vendors to plan and execute successful meetings and events. Communicate internally to ensure contract expectations are met and exceeded. Responsible for the event supervision by communicating with other departments, ensuring the accuracy of details and coordinating all details of the event before, during, and post event. Prepare and distribute contracts, reports, event sheets, and audio-visual requests as needed. Design marketing and sales strategies and present them to upper management. Provide superior customer service to clients and prospects Contribute positively to the front office by developing a strong working relationship within the office Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Sales. Education/professional Experience Bachelor’s degree in Sports, Business, Hospitality, Event Planning or related field preferred. At least five years of Special Event Sales experience. Extensive prior experience in selling and executing events preferred. Must possess a thorough knowledge of sales, marketing, analytics and digital media, have a sound administrative skill, and well-developed management skills. Proficient in computer operations including Excel, Word, point of sale, and database applications.
