This key role is responsible for successfully executing HBRA’s events while also driving membership growth, cultivating sponsorships, managing specialty Councils, and elevating the organization’s digital presence. The ideal candidate is motivated by measurable results, thrives under deadlines, and is energized by the challenge of building, managing, and executing industry-leading events that create value for members and sponsors alike. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Execution (Top Priority) Drive event timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and volunteer management to deliver seamless and professional member experience at all events. Build strong relationships with members, partners and vendors. Partner with other team members to plan, promote, and execute the Connecticut Home & Remodeling Show. Collaborate to ensure all events meet HBRA’s strategic goals and brand standards. Membership Growth & Engagement Develop and execute strategies to grow HBRA membership with a focus on relationship-building and long-term engagement. Coordinate networking opportunities, and events that deliver value to members and reinforce the importance of association involvement. Sponsorship Development & Management Strategically identify, close, and fulfill sponsorships that support HBRA events and initiatives. Create compelling sponsorship packages aligned with partner objectives and HBRA priorities. Ensure all sponsor benefits are delivered with excellence, reinforcing satisfaction and repeat investment. Council Leadership & Support Serve as the lead staff liaison to HBRA’s specialty Councils, including the Remodelers and Multifamily Councils. Guide the development of council programming and initiatives that align with HBRA’s broader mission. Foster member leadership within Councils to enhance ownership and innovation in council-driven events. Social Media & Digital Engagement Lead content planning and execution across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to enhance awareness of events, membership benefits, and industry relevance. Ensure timely and engaging promotion of all HBRA events and member opportunities. Leverage analytics to refine digital strategy and improve engagement over time. Organizational Collaboration & Representation Work directly with the CEO and staff on strategic initiatives that elevate HBRA’s presence and member value. Represent the Association at relevant events, conferences, and member meetings to promote visibility and credibility.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in event planning, association management, membership/sponsorship sales, or a comparable role. Proven ability to manage complex events and meet high-performance goals.
Skills:
Exceptional project management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building ability. Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and event management software.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events and meetings. Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
