The Events and Engagement Manager will play a vital role on the Development Team, engaging with current and future supporters via fundraising and community events, helping to ensure that HEF continues to build and grow philanthropic support for programs impacting students, teachers, and schools. This person will serve as the staff lead for all HEF events related to fundraising including but not limited to: EmpowerEd, Excellence in Education, Play FORE Education, the Larry Wilder Memorial Fishing Tournament, and the Race for Education. As the lead staff person, the Events and Engagement Manager will manage all aspects of event planning from conception to post-event analysis, manage collaborations with vendors and colleagues, and work to ensure each event is successful from both a friend-raising and fundraising perspective. Following the completion of the 90-day probationary period, this position is eligible to work up to 2 days a week remotely in accordance with HEF’s Telecommute Policy. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of HEF fundraising events including the design, planning, implementing, and evaluating each event.
Specifically:
creating each event timeline/layout, budget development and tracking, vendor contracts, event production, ticketing management/guest registration, onsite event management (including volunteers/HEF staff), and post-event follow up and evaluation. Develop and implement sponsorship benefit matrix to ensure sponsorship packages are desirable for supporters and positively impact the fundraising goals of each event. Manage sponsorship tracking, recognition, and benefit fulfillment. Maintain and grow a portfolio of event-specific supporters; successfully cultivate, solicit, and steward those supporters through tailored engagement and relationship building. Steward relationships with external partners including vendors, relevant HCPS staff, event partners (Emcees/speakers), and volunteers. In close collaboration with the Communications Team, create concepts, write, and develop materials related to events, including but not limited to: external communications, printed event materials (prospectus and invitation content, signage needs, programs, digital media, etc.), event website, and run of shows. Collaborate with Communications to finalize and produce event-related collateral. Manage event-related software (Qgiv) including creating event forms and tracking event registrations, attendees, donors, and VIPs for each event. Ensure timely and accurate transfer of information to Development & Database Coordinator for Raiser’s Edge input. Oversee in-kind donation efforts for event support (i.e. raffle items, donated food, beverage, etc.); proactively communicate in-kind needs with other Development Team staff members for assistance in soliciting/procuring needed items. Participate in all Development Team meetings. Attend other Program or Committee meetings as requested/needed. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years relevant event/project management experience required Experience with nonprofit/fundraising events highly preferred An Associate’s degree is required, but a Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered and may substitute for a degree Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook) required; experience with event software (Qgiv or similar) and/or Raiser’s Edge donor database is a plus Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Travel Demands:
Must have a valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation Ability to travel to and work, including set-up and break down, at offsite events which may occur in the early mornings, evenings or on weekends; ability to transport event materials
Physical Demands:
Moderate physical activity involved in an office setting Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Lifting requirements up to 30 pounds
