Full Job Description Summary:

Habitat for Humanity’s mission is seeking to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. As a key member of the Resource and Development team, the Director of Events & Community Engagement is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating events and initiatives that strengthen community partnerships, engage key stakeholders, support fundraising goals, and manage the Volunteer Coordinator to align volunteer efforts with organizational needs. This role ensures high-quality experiences that advance Habitat’s mission and deepen community impact.

Core Responsibilities :

Supports Resource & Development to maximize overall fundraising revenue and the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. Direct the Volunteer Coordinator in meeting the organization’s needs in volunteer recruitment and retention. Attend weekly Tri-Team meetings with Family Services, Construction, and Resource Development to coordinate volunteer groups, home dedications, and closings collaboratively. Develop event strategies aligned with organizational goals, including audience targeting, engagement tactics, and marketing integration. Plan and coordinate events, including meetings, conferences, and signature fundraising events. Manage all aspects of the event lifecycle—from concept and planning through execution and post-event evaluation. Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability. Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure necessary services and products. Collaborate with the development team to support the cultivation and stewardship of recurring event sponsors. Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and transportation of event materials. Lead the project management of event-related marketing materials by coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and brand alignment. Manage event timelines and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Oversee on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown. Manage volunteers as needed for events. Handle any issues or challenges that may arise during events and find effective solutions. Maintain and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, sponsors, donors, and vendors. Collect and analyze event metrics and feedback to measure success, including attendance, engagement levels, lead generation, and overall return on investment (ROI). Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Proven experience in leading and managing teams with a focus on collaboration and results Demonstrated success in planning and executing events of various sizes Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience with Asana or similar project management platforms preferred Basic understanding of QuickBooks or other financial software Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable transportation Must pass an acceptable background check
