You will be responsible for every part of event process from the inquiry stage to onsite event management and work under our Sales Director. Daily tasks include guest interaction, prospecting new business, reservations management, menu detailing, preparing seating plans, various reporting, interdepartmental communication, on-site event servicing. As the event coordinator, you should be outgoing and possess a sound knowledge of the events process. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting our guest’s tailored requirements. This role will not be limited to event planning, the Event Coordinator will also be expected to participate in the front of house positions as a hostess, restaurant server and/or bartender or in a capacity of leading the FOH event team for a given event.

Responsibilities:

Identify the planner’s requirements and expectations for each event. Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process. Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes. Maintain and ensure proper payment including deposit processing. Conduct site visits for guests and explain features and selling points for event spaces within the venue. Routinely prospect new business via networking, cold and warm calling, and solicitation of referrals from previous events. Assess an event’s overall success and both take and offer feedback to improve internal processes. Various reporting that is required relating to events.

Requirements:

At least 3 years’ experience within the hospitality industry – some sales/event experience is an advantage but not required, but hospitality experience in some capacity is essential. Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities. Outstanding negotiation skills. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or public relations is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
