Position Purpose:

The individual in this position is responsible to provide management and coordinate the overall functions of the Volunteer Program and event coordination. Position Requirements /

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

Graduate from an accredited College or University with a associate degree. Bachelor’s degree in social services or health-related field, preferred. Or, three (3) years of related experience. Two (2) years work experience in a health or social service agency. Volunteer supervision preferred. Licensure /

Certification:

Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Must have an active Florida Drivers License. Skills /

Ability:

Demonstrated skills in organization, volunteer management, event management, supervision, communication, (both oral and written), and interpersonal relationship. Ability to work calmly under pressure. Must be computer literate.

Maintains open communication lines with corporate staff, external agencies, center staff, and departments.

DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES AND EVENTS COORDINATION POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES

IS A EXEMPT POSITION

) Creates growth opportunities for CHI by working with community partners. Recruits, interviews, and screens all potential volunteers. Coordinates supervision of all volunteers. Maintains volunteers’ records including documentation of hours of service provided. Plans and implements orientation and training programs for volunteers in cooperation with other staff members. Develops yearly objectives for volunteers based on agency and community need. Identifies and implements event related strategies to increase number of patients. Works with Supervisors to develop appropriate placements for volunteers. Conducts evaluation with Supervisors regarding volunteers and service projects. Coordinates special fundraising events. Works with business, service, and social organizations in the area to increase corporate volunteerism. Establishes relationships with corporations in order to gain sponsorship through volunteers. Coordinates volunteer recognition program. Events planning coordination and oversight. Facilitator of Cultural Competencies Classes and Cultural Awareness Day. Facilitates patient focus groups. Uses public relations and outreach strategies to assure continuity of volunteer support staff. Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism. Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
