The Director of Meetings and Events provides strategic leadership and professional expertise in the university-wide planning and execution of high-quality events. This role demands a high level of creativity, resourcefulness, and dynamic decision-making to deliver meaningful engagement opportunities for key university constituents. The Director fosters close collaboration with internal university partners and external vendors to ensure seamless event implementation. Key responsibilities include the organization and execution of events within the President’s Box at the university stadium and arena. This position is also instrumental in promoting the University to a variety of internal and external audiences, marketing its services, and actively engaging the local community through a variety of recognition, social, cultural, and educational programs and events, as well as managing the associated facilities.

Responsibilities:

Develops, manages and oversees all aspects of university-wide events that focus on faculty and staff including digital, virtual and in-person programming such as meetings, recognition ceremonies and special events that celebrate the achievements of UCF faculty, staff and students to advance the reputation and influence of the university and support the President’s goals. Works collaboratively with department leadership to coordinate and execute events for maximum planned operational efficiency and success at the president’s home, The Burnett House. Manages the President’s Suite for UCF Football home games and Addition Financial Arena President’s Suite for UCF Basketball games and other events, including oversight of suite logistics and operations to maximize stewardship of key donors and constituents on behalf of the president and president’s spouse. Directly manages an Event Coordinator and two Office Support Assistants to ensure strategic execution of position responsibilities are achieved. Coordinates and composes work orders for events services, building repairs and upgrades. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.

Extensive demonstrated budget experience. Project management experience. Experience organizing and executing high-profile events involving stakeholder engagement. Ability to handle confidential information and high-profile guests. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
