- We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Inside Catering and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic Catering and Venue team!
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with people. The Catering and Events Coordinator will serve as a key point of contact mostly via phone for our clients, managing various catering and event tasks while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will work closely with the owner and operations staff in a team environment. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to work with a diverse team while ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction! This job is full time and expect to have overtime during the busy season including some evenings and weekends based upon demand. This job also asks to have flexibility to work extended hours as needed for big days and also when helping fill in for sick leave or vacation leave for other key employees. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about catering and venue event details, efficient office management, and supporting a growing and evolving business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for clients and vendors, providing a warm and welcoming experience over the phone and in person.
- Assist with catering logistics, including drop-offs and full-service catering setups.
- Run errands for the team, including picking up laundry and other supplies as needed.
- Support office operations by answering phones, managing inquiries, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Make sure Catering orders are paid in full before leaving as well as events before they happen.
- Utilize Canva and other design tools to assist in creating marketing materials, menu changes, and social media.
- Help with small adjustments updating website using our backend system as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Apple computer systems to manage schedules, invoicing, accounts receivable, and reports.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient catering delivery.
- Adapt to varying work hours, including the possibility of longer hours on certain days including home UGA football games, as well as occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
- Help assist owner, business priorities, and any projects as directed by owner.
Qualifications Proven experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the hospitaltiy industry. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Being polite and friendly on the phone with customers! Bachelor’s degree…preferably in Marketing or Business. Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Very Detail oriented! Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist colleagues. Previous experience in catering events & hospitality is required! Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and comfortable using Apple products. Basic knowledge of design software like Canva or Adobe suite is a plus! Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be able to run errands as needed. Physical and Mental Requirements This position regularly requires you to talk and listen. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. You must be able to lift 50lbs. This job is expected to work 5 days a week at minimum and possibly an extra day when needed during busy times including UGA football games and other seasonal large events in the Spring and Fall mostly!
