Preferred Qualifications Position Summary An integral member of the Franklin Dean’s Office team, it is expected that this position contributes to a collaborative, professional, and solutions-oriented environment. This position leads the planning and execution of programming and events for The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and manages the College-level advisory boards and councils. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and executing a wide range of events, ensuring they align with the College’s goals and objectives. The role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking and meticulous attention to detail to deliver memorable and impactful experiences. The Strategic Engagement Manager collaborates with various stakeholders including students, staff, faculty and alumni, manages budgets, coordinates logistics, and oversees the entire event lifecycle from conception to post-event analysis.
In addition, this position will manage the college-level boards. Specifically, they will be responsible for overseeing board activities and operations: coordinating board meetings, facilitating communication between board members and college leadership, and leveraging the expertise of the members to support to the College’s mission and goals. The performance of this position impacts relationships between UGA, event attendees, and donors of the University the Georgia and The Franklin College of Arts & Sciences. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Event Planning and Coordination Develop event concepts and themes aligned with the Franklin College of Arts and Science goals.
Coordinate logistics including venue selection, catering, transportation and accommodations.
Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective implementation. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities Board Management Provide structure, oversight, and volunteer committee coordination for the Franklin College volunteer boards.
Support board activity centered around the Dean’s greatest priorities.
Schedule and organize regular board meetings, retreats and other events.
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and reports.
Maintain regular communication with board members, facilitating information flow between the boards and College leadership.
Work with the Office of Development and Marketing and Communications teams to develop communications materials to keep board members informed.
Collaborate with the Office of Development to identify fundraising opportunities and together with the Development team, engage board members in fundraising campaigns and initiatives. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities Event Management Oversee event setup, execution and teardown.
Ensure smooth operations and promptly address any issues that arise during the event.
Evaluate event success, including gathering feedback from attendees and identify areas of improvement. Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities Marketing and Promotion Create marketing strategies to promote events and maximize attendance.
Work with the College Marketing and Communications team to utilize appropriate communication channels for event promotion.
