Job Description

Assistant Director of Events 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA As an assistant director of events, you will regularly meet with the executive director to provide and receive updates on previous and upcoming events, as well as to propose ideas, concepts, and décor models. Proposed ideas will align with the university’s branding across all SCAD locations. You will coordinate and attend event meetings with all necessary partners, continuously train staff, and oversee SCAD signature events. Additional duties may be assigned to ensure the department’s success and to fulfill SCAD’s mission. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills. Their attendance is required at all major events, which vary each year and include both annual and project-based events in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga.; Lacoste, France, and other destination cities.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline At least three years of experience in events and project management Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the university Reliable transportation Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license Valid passport Travel required: 20-40% Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
