Corporate Events Specialist (part of The Home Depot) 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA 30339 Job Summary Provide assistance in the execution and planning of large-scale events and trade show activities for the company. Assists manager to ensure events achieve consistent high quality and standards that reflect well upon profile of HD Supply. Shares resources and best practices with business lines. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Assists with coordination and execution for all assigned events from planning to completion which may include securing event locations, managing guest room reservations, ordering food and beverages, etc. Assists with research and RFP requests from third party vendors. May propose vendor recommendations. Manages and monitors the upkeep, rentals, status and budgets of trade show booth program. Monitors invoices/budgets, traffic invoices and creates/monitors events budgets. Coordinates and executes event deliverables and promotional items. Assists with event and trade show needs. Serves as liaison to the exhibit company and other providers for servicing needs. Monitors and maintains reservations, online registrations, staffing and schedules. Provides input to the development and implementation of event management project plans. Nature and Scope Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data. Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor. May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel. Work Environment Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors. Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds). Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
