Events Manager Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl – 3.8 Atlanta, GA Job Details $60,000 – $68,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Excel Mid-level Windows Supervising experience Bachelor’s degree Computer skills Events management 1 year Communication skills Hotel experience Full Job Description Peach Bowl, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that owns and operates the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Game, the Aflac Kickoff Game(s), the Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge golf tournament, and operates and manages the Dodd Trophy presented by PNC. The Events Manager position will be responsible for overseeing our volunteer program, one of our team hotels, band/spirit liaison & hotel, hospitality rooms, hotel events/activities & security, uniforms, and producing additional events and providing support as needed/assigned. The largest responsibility is with our volunteer initiatives including recruitment, development and management. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Management Responsible for the concept development, project management, execution, post-event evaluation and budget management for specifically assigned events. Produce Task Lists and Ops Timelines for all managed initiatives throughout the year. Responsible for all aspects of our volunteer program. Recruitment, development and management of over 500 volunteers. Manages the volunteer database (currently Rosterfy), communication from PBI to volunteers, awards, name tags, training meetings and appreciation parties. Manage specific volunteer groups within Kickoff games and the Bowl as relevant/assigned. Fan Ambassadors, Band/Cheer, and volunteers in your assigned hotel are some examples. Responsible for obtaining options, ordering, packaging, and distributing all uniforms for volunteers, and others as needed. Responsible for managing the operational aspects of one of our Official Team Hotels for the Bowl. Coordinating security, parking, rooming, food & beverage, meeting space, and all events, hospitality rooms, and activities within the hotel. Responsible for developing and implementing all aspects for the following, in collaboration with the Director of Events assigned to the other team hotel to ensure both teams have as similar experience as possible: Arrival Dinner Arrival Meeting (APD if requested) Hospitality Rooms (décor, f&b, furniture, games, etc.) Hospitality Activities & Events Hospitality credentials Team Gift Distribution Team Give back Event Departure Breakfast Helping our communications staff manage their media hospitality room at the Official Media Hotel Helping manage our FCA Cheer partnership with our COO Assisting with Team Walks With the VP of Events, serve as contact for a team the following items (working in collaboration with the Director of Events so teams and conferences have similar experience): All Hotel Operations Game Credentials Postgame family/VIP movements Liaison to the school band and cheerleader/spirit groups. Managing all of their activities, leading the volunteers over these groups, and managing the hotel relationship for these groups. Produce and manage the Food Matrix to ensure that staff, volunteers, teams and working functions are provided with appropriate meals. Manage the Aquarium FanNight event each year. Manage the NFF Hall of Famer program with our CFO. Lead registration and gift efforts of our annual golf tournament as well as assisting other areas of the tournament. Must continually develop relationships with Bowl sponsors, Board members, volunteers, vendors and community representatives. Fulfill specific sponsorship elements and agreements related to events as needed by our sales department. Work with our marketing team to assist with the signage and print material needed for your events. Responsible for contract negotiations, managing vendors and overall customer and client relations. Assist with any game management roles as needed. Provide assistance and manage additional events and activities as assigned. Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of five (5) years event management experience and minimum one (1) year supervisory experience.
Special Communication Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication.
Computer/Software Skills:
Complete knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Windows, Power Point and Excel. Experience with The Registration System or similar volunteer database system a plus.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Understanding that working long hours, weekends, and holidays will be needed at times.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Extensive walking, lifting, and physical demands are present on event and preparation days.
SALARY RANGE
$60,000-$68,000
