Job Summary:
Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) mission is to promote Latin American arts and cultures as an engine for stronger communities and economic growth. We are seeking a passionate and creative Event Coordinator who is enthusiastic about promoting our culture and engaging with the community. He/ she will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing cultural events, workshops, performances, and community gatherings at Veronica Robles Cultural Center. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for promoting cultural heritage and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities Event Planning and Execution:
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of cultural events, including festivals, workshops, performances, and community gatherings. Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics to ensure seamless execution. Collaborate with artists, performers, and community groups to curate authentic cultural experiences. Oversee event setup, coordination, and teardown, ensuring all aspects align with the center’s mission and standards.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
Build and maintain relationships with local cultural organizations, artists, and community leaders. Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse community members and encourage participation in events. Serve as a liaison between the Cultural Center and the community, integrating community members into the planning and execution of events, ensuring that events reflect their interests and needs..
Marketing and Promotion:
Collaborate with the marketing team to create, monitor and evaluate promotional materials, including flyers, social media content, and press releases.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate records of event details, budgets, and attendance. Prepare post-event reports, including feedback and recommendations for future events.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event coordination, arts administration, or a similar field Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed Experience working with or demonstrated sensitivity to diverse communities and artists Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning tools (e.g., Notion, Google Workspace, Canva)Bilingual (Spanish/English) Passion for cultural arts, diversity, and community building
Preferred Skills:
