A bit about our business. Foothills Farm & Butchery is a family-owned business with locations in Black Mountain and Old Fort. We are known for our iconic menu of homemade smash burgers, homemade hotdogs, BBQ pork, and tallow fries. Although our menu is similar to fast food, we only serve locally-sourced meat that we process from whole animals at our butcher shop. We offer competitive pay as well as discounts at our restaurants and at the butchery. Foothills catering staff work both public and private events in a variety of on- and off-site settings. Staff must have the ability to travel to our business and off-site locations throughout the greater Asheville/Black Mountain area. This is an on-demand position. While Foothills’ events and catering department does fully operate year round, our peak season typically extends from May through October. This results in a greater need for event staff during that time period. A bit about your work ethic. You enjoy celebrations and connecting with guests to ensure they feel taken care of. You demonstrate exceptional customer service, time-management, and food and beverage service. You are consistent, thoughtful, and prompt. In your downtime, you know how to prep for the next rush and lend a hand to co-workers who are “in the weeds.” What we will ask of you: Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times. Directly communicate and interact with guests in a friendly manner and put guests at ease Communicate with other team members with kindness and accuracy Be willing to travel to various locations throughout WNC Always remain educated on our offerings and able to respond to any requests or questions about our menus, dietary restrictions and other functions and services Create, prepare, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with our drink recipes. Assist with pre- and post-event sidework

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Safe food handling Positive energy, understanding that our staff operates as a team Ability to maintain a fast pace and intensity for an extended period of time while performing with quality and accuracy Ability to work from event setup, including arranging furniture, decorations, equipment, etc, through post-event breakdown. Demonstrated ability to communicate kindly and effectively with managers, employees, and all customers A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays Standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting Lifting up to 40lbs without issue Withstanding exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils Withstanding exposure to and working with cleaning chemicals Listen to and comprehend instructions from lead staff, managers, and coworkers over music, event noise, and equipment noise.
