DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This position is an event, customer service and food and beverage professional committed to the Center’s guests, beneficiaries, and rental clients. This position must oversee all food and beverage components to include; concessions, VIP services, Artist hospitality. This position will also serve as a venue representative for select performances

EXERCISEDReceives direct supervision from the Senior Managing DirectorExercises event-based supervision over volunteers and part-time operations staffWork closely with Guest Experience Manager-Personnel for staffing

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Concessions:

Envision and enact food and beverage revenue streams across multiple points of sale for all shows at the Wilson CenterFocus on minimizing expenses through efficient staffing, product inventory and forecast orderingTrain and monitor volunteers on NC ABC policies and procedures, as well as maintain active permits for alcohol salesMonitor industry trends to stay on the cutting edge of equipment, product mix and concessions efficiency.

Oversee financial reporting and reconciliation of all food and beverage operations of the CenterWork closely with marketing department to streamline menu requests and design, special offerings and promotional materialsWork closely with box office and member services staff to coordinate our highest levels of food and beverage services such as: opera boxes, members receptions, special events and galas

Artist Services:

Create a world-class artist hospitality program for touring artistsCoordinate catering, transportation and general hospitality needs for touring artists, both meeting the basic demands of the artist and going above and beyond to create a memorable touring experienceDevelop relationships with caterers that support the local service industry and create singular experiences for touring personnelOversee event-based part-time staff to fulfill transportation, shopping, and catering services

Venue Representative:

Address client and guest complaints when appropriate; inform the Senior Managing Director of all complaints and follow protocol regarding event reporting.

Be knowledgeable and ready to enforce and activate front-of-house emergency procedures, guidelines, and operational flow for security, ticketing scanning, and guest services for all events. Educate, enforce, update, and lead by example for Volunteer Corps concerning guest services, food and beverage operations and safety.

Work closely and seamlessly with internal Wilson Center departments, but also greater CFCC departments to ensure safe and successful events.

These departments include:

New Hanover County Sheriffs, Allied Universal, CFCC Maintenance, CFCC Business Office, Shipping/Receiving, Printing, Human Resources, CFCC Foundation, and CFCC Fine Arts faculty and staff.

Ensure ADA compliance for guest services: supporting guests and volunteers on proper procedures, assisted listening, monitoring needs for wheelchair seating, booster seats, etc. Manage event-specific Concessions operations, to include cash reconciliation, product inventory, and direct oversight of volunteer concessionaires, in strict adherence to NC ABC laws.

Support event related information data collection relating to concessions sales, VIP services and wait times.

Other Important Functions:

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assignedSupport training and supervision of volunteers and staff, encompassing evaluation and motivation, and making recommendations when needed to the Guest Experience Coordinator concerning discipline.

Candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master’s degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States. To claim veterans’ preference, all eligible persons shall submit a DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, to Human Resources during the application process.
