Position Summary TheEvent Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting private event business, eventplanning, and providing overall end to end support to City Winery clients inpursuit of delivering exceptional special event experiences. This role isresponsible for developing, organizing, and managing events from point ofcontract through hands-on execution of the event. This individual must have theability to successfully materialize the vision of the client, exceedingexpectations at every opportunity and maintain long-term client relationshipsthroughout and after planning.

  • Creatively sell all event spaces in alignment with budgets
  • Curate, coordinate, and manage designated events from point ofcontract to hands-on execution
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships andpositive brand impressions
  • Maintain correspondence and handle all details of events withclient throughout event preparation and execution to ensure clients’ needs aremet and/or exceeded
  • Utilize appropriate documents from the Event Director and clientto create and maintain physical file for each event
  • Create organized and detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to bepassed along to other departments (i.e. Front of House, Kitchen, etc.) toensure smooth execution on the day of event
  • Work directly with Executive Chef, Winery Department, GM and FOHManagers to secure event needs for execution
  • Schedule and conduct site tours with prospective clients, andconfirmed clients to arrange and confirm details pertaining to every element ofthe event
  • Find opportunities to “Up Sell” (Custom Label Wine, beverageupgrades, menu upgrades, etc.)
  • Create addendums for any additions to the original contract
  • Participate in weekly event production meetings to communicate theBEOs to team
  • Collect all payments (including deposit, balance and addendum) andcorrespond with the Accounting Department when necessary to facilitate andensure receipt of payments
  • Oversee event set-up and introduce client/on-site contact to Frontof House Manager(s) facilitating event
  • Be available for questions during event set-up and check in onevent periodically
  • Establish and maintain department filing system to ensureefficiency and organization (upcoming events, events in progress, completedevents, beverage logs, etc.; archive files as appropriate)
  • Maintain existing department resources (menus & descriptions,wine & beer lists, wine tasting notes, vendor resources/catalogs, etc.)
  • Maintain a well articulated and properly detailed working BEO inTripleSeat and communicate with other departments throughout the planningprocess
  • Create and analyze monthly and weekly Event Department Revenue vs.

  • Other duties, projects, tasks as per business need Minimum Qualifications + 5+ years’ experience in event sales/management or equivalentrelevant experience + Proven background in strategizing and executing on-premisesevents + Strong customer service orientation skills + Proven revenue and budget management skills + Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, andresults oriented + Knowledge of practices and procedures of on-premises events + Ability to negotiate, influence and sell prospective clients + Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook + Professional and effective interpersonal,leadership, and communication skills, both written and oral + Appreciation and general understanding of themusic, food, and wine business + Ability to work flexible schedule includingnights, weekends, holidays if needed due to events + Bachelor’s degree preferred •About Us•Wine, food, andlive entertainment collide at City Winery to create a dynamic and incrediblyunique workplace.
