Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Darla Moore School of Business invites applications for a full-time Special Events Manager. The Special Events Manager works with the Director of the Office of Special Events for the Darla Moore School of Business ensuring proactive planning, communication, scheduling and execution of a wide variety of events for the college. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Experience with Eventbrite and 25Live is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proficiency using Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. The position requires excellent organizational, planning, and communication/interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise judgment, discretion; interprets and applies policies and procedures; and establishes and maintains effective working relationships. Ability to set up and operate AV equipment, including projectors, document cameras, video conferencing units, phone conferencing (VoIP), speakers, microphones, and control systems. Familiarity with relevant software for presentations and some audio mixing. Ability to install software and troubleshoot basic software issues. Ability to identify and resolve technical issues with AV equipment quickly and efficiently. Job Duties Job Duty Identify, track, and prepare attendee profiles for Special Events. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Establishes timelines for event preparation which include managing internal and external vendors and clients. Activities may include contacting alumni, business leaders, businesses, students, faculty, staff and the general public by means of email or Teams. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty Prepares food menus, promotional items, invoice payments and other payment processing, and other support duties for event planning.
