Job Description
Part Time – Event Staff – Ole Red Nashville Opry Entertainment Group & Ryman Hospitality Properties (part of Ryman Hospitality Properties) Nashville, TN 37201 Provide exceptional service to guests while serving food and beverage items in a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful manner at a restaurant, bar, and entertainment destination. Perform set-up and break-down of event spaces. Work with a team to ensure private event and banquet operations run smoothly while prioritizing the comfort and safety of guests. Perform setup and breakdown of event spaces and corresponding stations in preparation for service. This includes moving tables, chairs, food stations, transporting supplies, placing linens and decor, and more. Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements. Accurately take orders and assist guests in a fast-paced environment. Respond to guest inquiries regarding menu, wine list, and entertainment. Deliver food and beverages to table, pre-bus as necessary. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the staff leadership. Anticipate and respond to guest needs. Respond to guest concerns/complaints regarding food or service and correct errors or resolve complaints with a friendly, positive attitude. Organize and prioritize service per appropriate service sequence. Adhere to quality expectations and standards, including clean and professional uniforms and personal appearance. Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and company policies. Request proper ID per company policy. Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures, including proper operation of POS terminals/cash registers, collecting money from guests and giving accurate change, processing credit card transactions accordingly, and balancing register at end of shift. Maintain a clean and orderly food service environment during operation and at end of shift, following sanitation procedures required by health regulatory agencies, focusing on both public areas and back of house. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to leadership. Ensure all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required Experience Experience in restaurant, banquet or event operations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills Demonstrated team player and self-starter Standard food preparation/presentation knowledge Skill in guest relations Wine and liquor knowledge Ability to handle multiple tables at one time efficiently and with an upbeat, friendly attitude; anticipate guest needs Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for long periods of time Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays Licenses / Certifications State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire
