Front of House Team member Local Roots, LLC Tuscaloosa, AL 35405

Job Summary:

Local Roots is a locally owned restaurant. We are looking for efficient, courteous team members who possess excellent customer service skills to work the front of the house at our restaurant location. To succeed in this role, you should be responsible, attentive to customer needs and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greeting each guest with a positive attitude
• Use a Point Of Sale system to ring up each item correctly
• Handle cash, credit card and other tender transactions with customers
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shift to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information and notify manager if appropriate
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Side work at the beginning and end of each shift, including but not limited to cleaning, restocking, attending to the dining room and bathrooms.

Requirements:

• Experience in restaurant setting (preferred but not required)
• Must have a positive attitude and aptitude to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours at a time
• Understanding of basic math
• Excellent interpersonal communication/ written and verbal communication
• Must be flexible to work variety of shifts (lunch, dinner, night shift, weekends, game days)
• Knowledge of restaurant POS systems (preferred, not required) If you are a current college student, please include your school schedule.
