Position:

Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and engaging individual with open availability, to join our growing family! In this position, associates are accountable for being part of the overall success of the daily Deli department operations and working as a team all while creating an exceptional customer service experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Greeting customers when they arrive at the deli counter. Provide customers with information about various deli items. Ordering, purchasing and stocking of deli products. Ensure product freshness by rotating out old products and following quality control schedule. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace at all times. Keeping deli equipment and tools clean at all times. Follow recipes and deli food preparation, meeting expectations of Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market standards with exceptional quality. Ensure a sufficient supply of deli items is displayed in cases. Pack ready-to-sell deli products and label them with product type and pricing information. Slice, cut, weigh, and price deli items carefully. Attend mandatory weekly team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate. Food Handling/Safety Certification- Preferred but not required. Customer Service Experience. Must be 18 years of age or older. Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Requirements:
Required Skills/ Abilities:

Exceptional customer service skills. Displays strong creative background, able to suggest alternatives, and be open to suggestion. Extensive knowledge of food safety, including knowledge of danger zones, temperature control, storage, and logs. Ability to operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers and scales. Must have strong knife skills and other deli utensils. Knowledge of deli equipment. Ability to work under pressure. Create a motivational environment. Able to open, close, work mid shift on rotation. Excellent attention to details. Demonstrate ability to work independently, be an organized, creative self-starter and efficient in a constantly evolving environment. Ability to manage and successfully execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

Able to physically lift 50 pounds or more. Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights. Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility as well as bend, reach, twist and squat. Ability to work the necessary shifts in various conditions. Able to work with various fresh products, without negative allergic consequences.
