Deli prep/sandwich maker Zo Grill 157 Broome Street, New York, NY 10002 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will play a key role in maintaining food safety standards, ensuring cleanliness, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of deli items including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches according to established recipes and presentation standards. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their selections, answering questions, and making recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of deli products and assist with restocking as needed to ensure availability of fresh items. Operate deli equipment such as slicers, scales, and ovens safely and efficiently. Perform basic math calculations for pricing and portioning products accurately. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment. Requirements Previous experience in the grocery store or food service industry is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory. Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is highly desirable. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
