Deli Associate Spring Valley Supermarket Nyack, NY 10960 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Deli Associate for our supermarket . In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will help keep the deli department fully stocked, clean, and visually appealing, ensuring a great experience for every shopper. Responsibilities Prepare and serve deli items, including cold cuts, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, ensuring freshness and quality at all times. Assist customers with their selections, offer knowledgeable recommendations, and respond to questions in a friendly, helpful manner. Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the deli area in compliance with health regulations. Operate deli and kitchen equipment safely and accurately, following food handling guidelines. Ensure the deli counter is well-stocked, organized, and visually attractive throughout the day. Perform basic math for pricing, weighing, and managing inventory. Help control product waste and follow proper product rotation procedures (FIFO). Work collaboratively with team members, especially during busy periods, to keep operations running smoothly. Experience & Skills Experience working in a supermarket deli , restaurant kitchen, or similar food service environment is preferred . Knowledge of deli products, including sliced meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and sandwich making. Ability to prepare fresh salads, sandwiches, and other deli items quickly and accurately. Strong customer service skills; must be friendly, dynamic, and able to interact well with customers. Willingness to learn and follow established procedures for food preparation and cleanliness. Basic math skills for handling transactions and portioning products.
