Originally known as the Perry Family Vineyards, Horse Creek Winery has grown from a small start in 2008 to one of the largest and most successful producers of muscadine and blended wines in the Southeast. With over 40 acres of vineyard and a state-of-the-art production facility in Nashville, GA, Horse Creek produces a wide range of award-winning wines that can be found at their Sparks tasting room and in retail and specialty locations throughout the state. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tasting Room Associate (Sparks Location) promotes the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room, while educating customers on Horse Creek Winery’s history, brands, and varietals. This position is also responsible for building relationships with customers and takes the initiative to provide excellent customer service and exceptional hospitality. Essential duties include but are not limited to: Greets customers and pours wines for tasting according to procedure Provides customer service both in person and through phone conversation that exceeds expectations Assists customers in wine selections and describes wines, winery history and provides general tourist information Handles routine POS (Toast) transactions using Tasting Room software which includes operating the cash register, processing returns, employee purchases, etc. Meets established sales goals for wine, packaged food, and retail items Assists customers to their vehicles with large purchases when necessary Stays current on winery/wine knowledge Washes and polishes glassware Assists with set up and break down for events, as needed, in the Tasting Room. Informs customers about upcoming public events at the winery. Helps maintain a clean environment and atmosphere in the Tasting Room (e.g. sweeping, dusting, mopping as needed) Performs opening and closing procedures, as needed per shift schedule(s), using a set checklist

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently: Working in a retail sales environment Part Time, up to 15 hours per week. Up to 7 hour shifts during business hours. Current business hours are Thursday- Sunday 1:00-6:00pm Must be available to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prior Tasting Room Experience with a focus on Sales High school diploma or GED; some college preferred Fluent in writing and spoken English Possess Mathematical skills Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, experience with Square POS system is a plus Professional appearance and demeanor, must be able to work as part of a team Outgoing personality with open and friendly communication Minimum age 18 years old 3-5 years of similar experience preferred in restaurant, bar, or hospitality sector Serve Safe Certification is a plus, but can be completed at start of employment

Starting Amount:

$10.50 hourly based on experience. Position is eligible for tips Resume Required, outlining relevant experience, skills, and certifications in the tourism, hospitality or restaurant industries.
