Are you ready to blend fun with work? We’re seeking a Tasting Shack Associate to bring the spirit of WhistlePig Whiskey to life at our new location in Spruce Peak. This role is all about making retail magic happen, and educating our guests on everything WhistlePig. It’s all about the perfect balance of education and good times. Get ready to be the champion of guest experience and create unforgettable moments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Tasting Shack Associate, your responsibilities include: Providing guests with the best possible experience, fostering relationships that promote sales and brand loyalty. Pouring samples of our exquisite whiskey. Encouraging customers to dive into the world of WhistlePig Whiskies. Educating guests about the fascinating history and range of WhistlePig products. Skillfully using registers for smooth transactions. Nailing opening and closing procedures
- setting up, breaking down, table arrangements, glassware shining
- all things Tasting Shack. Keeping our whiskey and merchandise fully stocked. Maintaining the aesthetics of our tasting room
- we want it looking sharp!
Closing out the point of sale system and reporting daily sales.
QUALIFICATIONS
To rock this role, you’ll need to have: Due to the sensory requirements of the job (occasional tastes are a thing!) candidates must be a minimum age of 21 (sorry, it’s the law). Reliable transportation
- you’ve got to get here! A genuine passion for spirits and related topics. Retail sales experience
- you’re the master of product presentation and upselling. Basic computer skills (G-suite, MS Office). A flexible schedule, the Tasting Shack is open Thursday through Sunday. A pigtastic personality, and the ability to solve problems on the fly. Stamina
- you can stand for ages, and you’re strong enough to lift 50 pounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for candidates with: 1-3 years of related experience.
A VT DLC
1st class alcohol server certification before you start. Experience in restaurants, bars, hospitality, or service is a major advantage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You’ll need to: Juggle multiple projects, customer needs, and tasks like a pro. Use your hands and fingers to operate a register, pour spirits, listen, speak, and even taste and smell. Be on your feet, moving or walking for extended periods. Lift and move up to 50 pounds. Be ready for the occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
TRAINING
We’ll equip you with: Two days of brand training before go-live! On-site training before you launch into the fun.
