Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Assists the Cage Shift Manager in coordinating the activities of the Main Bank and Cage cashiers. Will perform all duties of the Shift Manager in their absence. Must know and understand “Title 31” and all forms needed to complete these transactions. Safeguard all company assets.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of one (1) year of related supervisory experience. High school graduate or GED is required. Experience in casino cashier/credit areas is required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Cage Cashier, with experience in all phases of the Cage operation required. Prior experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. Must have good math skills. Must have proven self as a good communicator, mediator, and decision-maker. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to work closely with co-workers within the cashier department as well as all other departments. Excellent organizational skills. Must have excellent guest and human relations skills. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Monitors, supervises, and observes operation of Cage, Slot Booths, and Pit Clerks. Schedules personnel on an assigned shift to best serve the customer. Knowledge of and adherence to Horseshoe internal controls, policies, and procedures. Reviews and investigates overages and shortages that occur. Oversees for the accurate completion of all shift work (ex. Fills, Credits, Jackpots, Hopper Fills, Marker Issuances, Marker Redemptions, Even Exchanges, etc.). Implements and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and gaming regulatory requirements. Has access to “write-off” accounts. Assists the Shift Managers in preparation of reports and other administrative responsibilities as assigned. Schedules personnel on an assigned shift. Responsible for the accurate completion of all shift work. Promotes teamwork among employees and resolves grievances. Handles guest related problems. May be required to act in the capacity of personnel who operate in positions subordinate to this position in times of staffing emergencies or shortfalls. May not operate in multiple capacities where it would cause a conflict of functions in regards to the System of Accounting and Internal Control. Promotes outstanding guest relations. Ability to perform all other duties as assigned.

DEMANDS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
PHYSICAL & MENTAL:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned area. Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment, not limited to a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photo copier. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to tolerate areas containing but not limited to second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
