We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will set the tone for their dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient seating. Your role is essential in creating a positive first impression and supporting smooth front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival. Manage waitlists and reservations using a seating chart or digital system. Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front entrance area. Communicate wait times and accommodate special seating requests when possible. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and take reservations. Coordinate with servers and management to ensure table turnover and guest flow. Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, and promotions. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 12 months previous experience in hospitality or customer service. Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens, pool decks/beach (+110°F). Ability to stand for long periods and move around the restaurant – up to four (4) hours in length. Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
