Hostess/Host Sakana Nikkei Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for guest services, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with menus. Manage the flow of guests into the restaurant, ensuring timely seating. Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times effectively to guests. Assist in managing reservations through our POS system, ensuring accuracy in bookings. Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about menu items and restaurant policies. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly, maintaining high standards of customer service. Uphold cleanliness and organization at the host stand and dining area. Experience Previous experience in guest services or hospitality is preferred but not required. Familiarity with food service operations is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective guest relations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in using POS systems is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided. A positive attitude and willingness to help others are key traits for success in this role.
