Position Overview
Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country bybining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. Scouting America believes and understands that helping youth puts us on a path towards a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
In exchange for free rent and utilities (including internet, electricity, water, sewer, and garbage), provide janitorial and customer service needs identified by council management, and oversee the security of the camp property.
Responsibilities
Campgrounds- all reserved areas are to be ready for groups by 2 pm on the first day of their reservation
Ensure campsites, program areas, roadways, andmon ground areas are clean and safe
Ensure restroom facilities (toilets, showers) are:
Clean
Stocked with paper goods and soap
Properly working and maintained (report any issues to the Camp Ranger)
Turn off lights, check thermostats, clean cabins if used, take out trash, return borrowed items to their storage space, etc., immediately after the checkout process ispleted
Camp Security
Oversee the security of the camp property
trespassers to the appropriate law enforcement authorities and staff
Facilitate camp ingress and egress
Other
Provide customer service to all groups over the course of their reservation
Complete all tasks and work orders assigned on a weekly basis and report progress to your supervisor by the end of each week
Off weekends must be scheduled no less than one month in advance with the immediate supervisor on the appropriate forms and must receive approval back
Event support for large weekend events
Greet, orient, and support the Camp Master on weekends off
Work schedule is primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a flexible work schedule preferred
Camp Host reports to the Ranger and serves at the pleasure of the Scout Executive
maintenance issues andplete regular cleaning of all areas of the camp
Complete all reports by Sunday evenings each week as required by your immediate supervisor (to include, but not limited to, cleaning reports, work orders, report of assigned taskpleted each weekend, Check-in/Check-out reports, Sunday close down reports)
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Successfulpletion of Youth Protection training
Submission of a BSA Adult volunteer application (for background check)
Have a current, valid state driver’s license
Ability to perform moderate physical labor
Ability to work with others to ensure council and BSA policies and guidelines are followed
Ability to work in a team as well as independently
Be dependable,anized, and flexible
Enjoyment of the outdoors
Strong relationship-building andmunication skills.
Requirements:
Must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities, and weekend work are frequently required to achieve positive objectives.
A Scouting background is helpful but not required for employment.
Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.
Expected Work Schedule:
46 weekends a year if not contracted for Summer Camp. (1 weekend off per quarter, plus 2 holiday weekends – to be scheduled around Christmas and Thanksgiving)
43 Weekends a year if contracted for Summer Camp. (1 weekend off per quarter, 3 weekends off during summer camp, 2 holiday weekends to be scheduled around Christmas and Thanksgiving)
Any additional jobs, such as working as part of the summer staff, are separate jobs, with separate contract terms,pensation, and requirements. These additional jobs cannot conflict or be the reason for failing to fulfill this job.
Any additional employment outside of the Suwannee River Area Council cannot conflict with or be the reason for failing to fulfill this job.

Compensation:
$1,800 per month in housing & utilities
Housing provided (valued at $1,200 per month)
-Only immediate family is permitted to live on the property
Utilities & internet provided (valued at $600 per month)
Use of camp vehicles for business use only
$25 per month reimbursement for use of personal cell phone
Not included inpensation:
Monetarypensation
Living stipend
TV, land line phone, cell phone, personal gas, and other services at the home
